Our Approach

We are passionate about our adopted home of Houston, the creative community, and the nonprofits who focus on making the world a better place.  And we are passionate about capacity building in this space, using all the skills and tools hard won in the corporate world.

Meet the Team at Warren Insight

We are a couple, sharing our success in both business and the arts.  You might engage with one or both of us in the course of an engagement.  We also have long standing relationships with a wealth of other professionals we can bring into the team or to refer you where that's appropriate.

Lillian Warren

Principal / Owner

Lillian Warren is a planning and strategy consultant, an active supporter of the arts community, and a visual artist.

Business Background

Lillian has strong skills in strategy and business planning, project management, business development, organizational communications, and process evaluation and improvement.  For over 30 years she has worked for a variety of companies such as IBM, CSC Consulting Group, and Portfolio Decisions LLC and consulted with clients ranging from startup ventures to Fortune 500 firms across a variety of industries.

She is an experienced consultant for the arts community. She has led board retreats for a variety of arts organizations, and had led workshops for artists on strategic planning and win-win negotiations as a workshop leader for Creative Capital, a New York City-based nonprofit organization.  She has served on a variety of non-profit boards for art organizations including terms as president, and as facilitator for the strategic planning process.

Arts Background

Lillian exhibits in Houston and around the country.  Her paintings have been featured in New American Paintings, and the Biennial Southwest at the Albuquerque Museum.  She has had one-person shows at several galleries, the Galveston Arts Center, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Art in Spring Texas, and at Houston's Lawndale Art Center.  She currently shows at Anya Tish Gallery in Houston.

Bob Warren

Principal

Bob is a renaissance man: strategic business consultant, photographer, political science maven and a veteran of the US Air Force.

Business Background

Bob has more than 30 years’ experience providing professional services in a consulting setting to clients, holding practice leadership and business development roles, responsible for direct employee supervision, sales quota and practice profit and loss.  He has worked for firms such as Ernst & Young, IBM, and was a Principal with Computer Sciences Corporation. Most recently, Bob was a Business Advisor with the University of Houston Small Business Development Center.  He worked with over 200 small businesses in developing business in the government sector, including initiatives like public art.  Bob has considerable public speaking experience, and often speaks on small business topics and veterans in business. He previously taught Political Science at the University of St. Thomas.  Bob is a 26-year veteran of the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserve. He was named Intelligence Officer of the Year (Reserve) for the Air Mobility Command.

Arts Background

Since 1998 Bob has been a working commercial and fine art photographer in Houston. He has expertise in photojournalism, still-life, fine-art and documentary photography. Currently he teaches studio lighting, portraiture, digital workflow and Photoshop in the Studio Photography program at Rice University’s Glasscock School. He also offers individual one-on-one mentor sessions for emerging photographers.
